Anders "Blakkheim" Nyström

Bloodbath

Anders Nyström is the guitarist for the all star Swedish Death Metal band BLOODBATH. The band follows the tradition of the true Death Metal sound. The last CD "Nightmares made flesh" has received excellent reviews. Anders is an established guitarist playing with various bands like Katatonia, Diabolic Masquerade and Bewitched. The SS-88AN guitar is an awesome guitar made exclusively for Anders to his specifications. Bloodbath played their first ever show at the Wacken 2005 Open Air Festival. ES Guitars is proud to have Anders use our guitars.

Anders uses a modified SS-88 model.

Martin Christian

Paragon

Martin Christian is the guitarist for the German Metal band Paragon. Following the tradition of German Metal, Paragon has several releases like "Dark Legacy", "Law of the Blade" and "Chalice of Steel" among others; which capture the energy of the band. The last CD "Revenge" is their best release yet. Martin Christian is the founder of the band and main songwriter for the band. Martin and I met after the Paragon show at the Wacken 2004 festival. After seeing the band live I was blown away by the power and heaviness of the band. If you have never heard the music of Paragon you are missing out on some EXCELLENT METAL. I highly recommend this band! See some pictures from the 2005 Metal Bash Festival.

WACKEN OPEN AIR 2005

ES GUITARS AT TWO MAJOR FESTIVALS IN GERMANY

I had the pleasure to go back to Germany to the Wacken Open Air Festival. This was my fourth time at the festival. Believe me once you go once you are addicted. This year I also attended the Metal Bash festival also in Germany. This was a special trip because two endorsed artist were playing at these major festivals in Germany. The following is just a small summary of the shows.

METAL BASH (31/07/05)

This festival is located outside of Hamburg. It's a nice festival a lot smaller compared to Wacken. This years festival included several excellent bands: Paragon, Stormwarrior, Moonsorrow, V8 Wankers and Equilibrium. Paragon is an excellent band that play brilliant Heavy Metal. The band is not very known in the US but the new CD is being sold here via MAGIKRECORDS. The band played classic songs and a lot of new songs from the latest "Revenge" CD. The band played for their home crowd and they played a full hour of "in your face" Metal. Martin Christian uses the JC-03 guitar model which at the festival was delivering some heavy riffs and blazing fast solos. The JC-03 model is a guitar that definitely stands out from the crowd.

Paragon

WACKEN (04/8/05-06/8/05)

If you have never been to this festival you do not know what you are missing. The is the biggest and best festival for Metal music. This years festival had Bloodbath, Dissection, Naglfar, Overkill, Metal Church, Suffocation, Metalium, Finntroll, Hammerfall, Machine Head, Nightwish, Kreator and Accept (and these are jut some the bands I saw). Bloodbath debut concert was a complete success! Bloodbath was fronted by Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth) and was probably one of the best bands to play the festival. The crowd was headbanging from start to finish. The band played songs like "Eaten" , "Cancer of the soul" and "ways to the grave". Anders proudly uses the ES Guitars SS-88AN model which definitely played loud and proud on the Wacken stage. The SS-88 is a guitar that delivers for top notch Death Metal like Bloodbath.
